The Collaborative for Jewish Organizing is a network of nine independent Jewish organizations working in 16 states and the District of Columbia. We organize Jews and non-Jewish allies to work in partnership with communities of color to advance social, racial, and economic justice, building power for the long term.

With our partners, we conduct powerful campaigns, benefiting millions of people. Jewish community organizing and advocacy is one crucial ingredient for achieving these advances, and for transforming unjust systems and building the world we dream of. The Collaborative, the largest formation of its kind, offers funders a uniquely effective and powerful vehicle for funding both on-the-ground organizing and capacity-building for the field.

Member groups vary, because they tailor their approach to local circumstances. Yet all of our groups work to:

  • Win campaigns in such issue areas as housing, labor rights, civic engagement, reproductive justice, tax fairness, immigrant justice, and racial justice

  • Build relationships of trust and solidarity with partner organizations, grounded in commitments to work together for common goals, across lines of race, faith and class

  • Engage everyday people as agents of change, developing grassroots leaders who form communal bonds and move people to action

  • Create vibrant Jewish community and a sense of belonging for tens of thousands of diverse Jews

  • Advance racial justice by campaigning for structural change, following the leadership of communities most affected by racism and inequality, and by actively working to address racism in our organizations and communities

  • Combat antisemitism, grounded in an understanding of Jewish safety as connected to the struggle for racial justice and collective liberation

  • Protect and advance democracy, through legislative initiatives, civic engagement, political education, campaign work to hold government accountable, and leadership development
